easyID is here: international age verification for vending machines
In short
Anyone who wants to buy cigarettes or other age-restricted products from your vending machine has to prove their age. Until now, this was almost only possible with an Austrian debit card.
With easyID, customers can now do it with their phone. Available to order now, live on your vending machine from 16 November 2026.
The problem: many customers can’t buy
Tourists, commuters, seasonal workers and foreign workers often don’t have an Austrian debit card. At the vending machine, their purchase fails at the age check. You don’t even notice, because a customer who can’t buy simply walks away.
How easyID works
- A QR code appears on your vending machine’s display.
- Your customer scans it with their phone.
- They confirm their age with ID Austria, EU Login or their ID document.
- The vending machine releases the purchase.
Your customer doesn’t need an app, and the whole process takes just a few seconds.
Your benefits
- More revenue: Customers without an Austrian debit card can buy from you too, from more than 45 countries.
- Reliable youth protection: A debit card can be handed to someone else. Nobody gives away their own phone, secured with a PIN or Face ID, that easily.
- Fixed, predictable costs: one flat monthly price instead of per-check fees, with unlimited age verifications.
- Future-proof: If age verification with two-factor authentication ever becomes mandatory, you are already prepared.
Age verification with a debit card continues to work as usual. If you prefer, you can switch it off.
What you need
The only requirement is the SELF 2000 card payment module from inform. No retrofitting is needed: from 16 November 2026, we can activate easyID remotely, without an on-site appointment.
easyID is available for vending machines serviced by Easy Vending, TOB or Moosmayr-Automaten, as well as for your own, purchased or leased vending machines.

Who is behind easyID
easyID is a service by Easy Vending. We are an official service provider of ID Austria. During the test phase before launch, customers from more than 20 countries already verified their age at our vending machines.
What easyID costs
easyID costs €15 per month per module (excl. VAT). This includes unlimited age verifications, with no per-check fees and no hidden costs.
For comparison: as a tobacconist (Trafik), you pay around 1.6 cents per check for age verification by debit card, even if no purchase follows. For a cigarette vending machine with €100,000 in annual revenue, that adds up to around €228. easyID costs €180 per year.
